Hiking....

Quite a bit of hiking was done on our "workation". Eben took various kids on different hikes...on the Superior Hiking Trail, to Gooseberry Falls, and we met up with Sean, Kerry, and C. at Jay Cooke State Park for more outdoors type fun.

We cooked out and ate hotdogs. The Little Apple loves her some hotdogs.
Then, it was off for some hiking. We went over to the Swing Bridge. Yes it moved and bounced when you walked on it. And yes, I freaked out.

But the view was gorgeous. This is a rock cliff type thing that my children managed to climb up on with their slippery cowboy boots. Kerry basically had to scramble up the rocks and sit on the kids before they fell in. They were simply too excited to pay attention to such things as death and head bashing and drowning and hospital visits. Or maybe I just need some anti-anxiety medication.
We finally hiked down lower, and I could relax a little. The water was a little more my speed. The kids had a fantastic time. I believe The Big Apple was pretending to paddle a canoe.
The Middle Apple, doing what she does best....dancing like nobody is watching.

Wonderful photos and what fun!! :) That bridge would make me nervous too, as would climbing on the rocks, but the view is beautiful. I love that you savor every sweet moment with your wonderful family. To do so, is one of life's greatest blessings.

I love these pictures - looks like my kind of place. Where did you go? Will I find out if I keep reading? Trying to catch up now...
